| People
are well aware of the activities of Ganadarpan
related to science-society interface. We are
happy to announce that ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION
CO-ORDINATION CENTRE (OTCOCEN) set sail on 5th
November 2004 through the efforts of Ganadarpan
along with Susrut Eye Foundation & Research
Centre, and in collaboration with the Government
of West Bengal. Ganadarpan has been consistent
in its campaign for making modern medical facilities
available to the people and inculcating scientific
temperament.
It may be noted here that first fifty years
of 21st century, an important area in medical
treatment will be of transplantation/grafting
of organs & tissues retrieved from a heart
beating, brainstem death donated cadaver.
Ganadarpan
aspires at providing facilities for transplantation
of organs at an affordable rate and even at
no cost to the poor and needy at OTCOCEN. Such
a serious social mission would remain a dream
without adequate flow of funds, at least to
the tune of Rupees one crore. Financial issues
are already under discussion with the Govt.
of West Bengal. A budget containing costs, expenditure,
income etc for the three following years have
been carefully prepared and submitted to the
concerned authorities.
Ganadarpan looks forward to its friends and
well-wishers for active and generous support.
We are hopeful that friends living outside India
will also agree to extend their help towards
this noble cause.
The
donations made to Ganadarpan are exempted from
Income Tax U/S 80G.of IT Act. Those who wish
to issue cheques may do so in the name of GANADARPAN
(A/C OTCOCEN). |
